2020/2021 15 Hour National USPAP Qualifying Course
Since its inception, The Appraisal Foundation (Foundation) has worked to foster professionalism in appraising by establishing, improving, and promoting the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). The Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery and Enforcement Act of 1989 recognizes USPAP as the generally accepted real property appraisal standards and requires that for federally related transactions appraisers comply with USPAP. Federal, state, and local agencies, appraisal services, and many professional appraisal organizations require compliance with USPAP.
The 15-hour Personal Property Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) material is designed to aid appraisers in all areas of appraisal practice seeking competency in the USPAP. This course is intended to fulfill the USPAP requirement for credentialed membership levels within professional personal property appraisal organization and will be taught by an active Personal Property Appraiser/Approved USPAP Instructor
This course focuses on the requirements for ethical behavior and competent performance by appraisers that are set forth in the USPAP. The course material emphasizes the role of the appraiser and the impartiality associated with this role. In addition to lectures, the course includes discussion examples that show how USPAP applies to situations that personal property appraisers encounter in everyday practice.
This program is offered in partnership with the Professional Career Center in North Syracuse, NY. Appraisal Licensing Courses approved by NYS Department of State (DOS). Assessor Certification Courses are approved by NYS Office of Real Property Tax Services (ORPTS).
