What are the Newly Adopted Real Estate Salesperson/Broker Continuing Education Requirements effective July 1, 2021?

All licensees will be required to successfully complete 22.5 hours of approved continuing education. The education must include at least 2.5 hours on the subject of ethical business practices, at least 1 hour of recent legal matters, at least 3 hours of instruction pertaining to fair housing and/or discrimination in the sale or rental of real property or an interest in real property and at least 1 hour of instruction pertaining to the law of agency except in the case of the initial two-year licensing term for real estate salespersons, 2 hours of agency related instruction must be completed within the two-year period immediately preceding a renewal.

The amendment also REMOVES the 15-year real estate broker continuing education exemption and now requires all brokers who are currently exempted to complete continuing education starting July 1, 2021.

The webinar will be a live course and run the same times as the classroom course. You will be able to log in with any device that has internet access (We do recommend using a device with a large enough screen so you will be able to see the PowerPoint and course material clearly) The instructor will lead the class live, you will be able to ask questions and participate in class discussions all in real-time.

We have held a few of our continuing education courses as a webinar and our students love them. We have received lots of great feedback! Check out some of the comments:

“LOVED the webinar format–feels like a class (which I prefer), without the travel! I would do this 100% of the time if offered! :)”

“What a great class, Ian did a wonderful job. I think the webinars would be a great way for some continuing ed classes even after Corona-virus is over.”

“This may seem strange, but I got more out of this Webinar course than the average classroom setting. I could hear and understand the instructor and participants more clearly. As each participant spoke you knew who they were as their name appeared on the screen. It might be because of my age or hearing, but I would definitely consider another webinar course. Thank you guys for going the extra mile and accommodating us during these times. Keep up the good work, stay healthy be safe.”
